Lynn Howard has been rug hooking since mid 1980s and gained her McGown Teachers accredidation in the mid 1990s. She teaches rug hooking in her local Calgary community, in various venues in western Canada and the western U.S. And has taught in Mexico. She is an enthusiastic dyer of wool, marketing her wools from her dye kitchen in Calgary. Her hooked creations have appeared in Celebrations three times and have been featured in two different sets of cards featuring Celebrations winners. She has been published in the McGown newsletter and was one of 50 rug hooking artists from the western states and Canada invited to participated in an exhibit of hooked rugs at the Latimer Museum in Oregon in 2014.

Lynne teaches all forms of rug hooking, but especially loves wide-cuts, folk art, whimsical designs and helping to color plan rugs. She also likes helping people ressurect projects that need to come out of the closet. She recommends students go elsewhere for portraits and very detailed finely shaded flowers.
